Please submit an original creation (artwork, code, writing, letter, poetry, photograph, etc.) to be included in a scrapbook honoring the 2014 NCWIT Pioneer Award Winner, Eleanor Kolchin! Ms. Kolchin will be presented with the commemorative scrapbook at the NCWIT Summit, May 19-21, 2014 in Newport Beach. Each participant that submits an original submission will receive an NCWIT ribbon hair tie.

Follow these steps to participate:

  1. Research and learn about Eleanor Kolchin. She has made many contributions to the computing field.
  2. Get inspired. Think about how Eleanor Kolchin inspires you as a young woman in technology, how her legacy is impactful, and why you admire her.
  3. Create an original work for the scrapbook. Create something to show Eleanor how much her work means to young women in technology. It could be a letter, a digital mash up of her photos with yours, artwork, poetry, or even a program you write.
  4. Submit it by May 1, 2014. Send your finished work (no longer than 10x10 or foldable so it can fit onto a standard 12x12 scrapbook page) to NCWIT with the submission form completed and attached. DEADLINE EXTENDED to May 9!
  5. Receive a reward. To thank you for being part of the project, each participant will receive an NCWIT ribbon hair tie in the mail after her submission is received. Selected submissions will be present to Eleanor at the Summit and will be scanned into an online gallery.
